Design

With years of proven experience in Aeronautical Engineering, The Company can offer Design solutions through in-house diverse engineering disciplines.

The Company can provide structural design encompassing composite and metallic from concept, through detailed design to the finished article utilising predominantly Catia V5 workbenches such as Part Design/ CPD/ GSD and Siemens NX. Digital mock up and assembly driven design can also be provided as part of the finished package to ensure working in context is maintained at all times.

Continuous Improvement is a key feature for all design solutions proving that cost, weight and in-house manufacturing cycle times are crucial to product acceptance. We offer alternative solutions where viable, to all concepts to provide this service to our customers.


Stress & Fatigue

The Company’s Stress engineers have vast aerospace structure/composite experience performing static strength and stability, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of structural components using classical hand calculations, commercial DTA software, and Finite Element Analysis.

With experience of methodologies used on the most recent projects from Saab, Boeing, Airbus UK, Bombardier and Lockheed Martin we can provide analysis support extending from conceptual design through initial sizing to check stress certification report authoring for both metallic and composite primary structure.

The Company has widespread FEA experience spanning from model generation to results post processing and encompassing linear, non-linear and dynamic solution sets.

The Company has the ability to provide bespoke analysis tools to enable efficient and repeatable stress analysis.


Composites

Accumulating over 25 years experience in Composite Design & Manufacturing knowledge, we offer capabilities in Aerospace, Space and Automotive production, with competencies in all aspects of Composites including fabric and tape lay, RTM and AFP processes.

VMii offers a wide range of experiences in training material for developing new operators in the basics of Composites, including tool cleaning, hand lay-up and bagging techniques, plus the theory behind the processes backed up with presentations, multiple choice questionnaires tailored to your company needs.

Our Company provides comprehensive standard operating procedures for any Composite detail. Specifications written incorporating existing standards and produce a highly detailed breakdown of costing’s using a detailed estimating tool dedicated to Composite products which has been developed by our Engineering Specialist over the past 15 years.


Manufacturing & Tooling

VMii have the facility to offer, mould tool design, vacuum routing fixtures, holding fixtures and all levels of jig design solutions through the use of Catia V5.

VMii has extensive experience with MRB activities with Major OEMs and can provide support and guidance.


Urban Air Mobility

Over the last century, the aviation industry has fundamentally changed the way we live and will not cease to innovate.

With the introduction of UAS and eVTOL/UAM operations in urban areas, aviation is, once again, taking a significant step forward unlocking new opportunities. In the not-too-distant future, point-to-point, limited-range, piloted and autonomous air vehicles will be the norm. Electric propulsion, lightweight structures and Battery new technologies will make it possible.
